Thomas “Tom” F. Hughes, 82 of Lambertville, MI, passed away, Wednesday, March 01, 2017, in Ebeid Hospice Residence.  Born March 2, 1934, in Adrian, Michigan, he was the son of Charles and Catherine  (Nachtrab) Hughes.  He was a 1952 graduate of  DeVilbiss High School, then received his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Toledo in 1957. Immediately after college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was assigned to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.  There he was an assistant mechanical engineer for the U.S. Army working on Nike Ajax and Nike Hercules Missile Program.  After an honorable discharge, he  was employed by various local companies and was an industrial engineer for Lucas County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities / Lott Industries until his retirement. He married Sallie R. Claus on January 16, 1971.   Tom was an active member of St. Clement Catholic Church and St. Vincent dePaul Society. He was also a member of the Corda Club and the Knights of Columbus Council 3122.  He enjoyed his Saturday evening dinner friends, gardening and time at Lake Erie.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sallie and sister, Lura (William) Kill.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rose Marie Hughes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 4, 2017, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Fr. Frank Speier, officiating. Interment will be private.  Memorials may be made to St. Clement Catholic Church or doing a good deed for someone else in his memory.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
